Spring always puts me in motion.
More miles. More boat ramps. More conversations that start in parking lots and airports and end hours later. I’ve learned that some of the best moments in this line of work happen when paths cross in real life.
This is a standing note I’ll share every few months. A simple way to let you know where I’ll be, what I’m working on, and—most importantly—where we might run into each other.
If you’re nearby, please reach out. Coffee, a beer, taco, etc. etc,
I would love to chat. I mean that.

UPCOMING EVENTS & TRIPS
This Spring looks something like this…
Marshfest 2026, Jax Beach FL, January 22-24
I’ve been to Marshfest a few times and always look forward to going back. It’s a good mix of live music, skeet shooting, great food, and people who just get it. Casey Anderson and Preston Faulkner will be tattooing out of my 20-foot Mobile Gear Garage. Come make your mom mad by getting a tattoo and meet some of the Drifter Fish Club Crew.
Denver Fly Fishing Show, February 6-8
I’ve been to the Fly Fishing Show before, but this will be my first time in Denver. I’ve been told it’s something of a mecca for these gatherings. Looking forward to seeing old friends, meeting new ones, and wandering the aisles without much of a plan.
SEWE Southeastern Wildlife Expo, Charleston SC, February 13-15
This is one of the events that I am the most curious…and a little excited about.
Make sure to come the Cast & Draft on Saturday from 12–5 at the Island Cabana Bar. Free oysters. Drink specials. Casting competitions. Skiff vendors. Stuff for kids. Come hang.
Drifter Fish Club Everglades Camp, February 19-27
We are really excited to be spending a week in one of America’s most wild places. Chasing Snook, Redfish, and maybe a few tarpon. This trip is for Drifter Members only.
Left Kreh’s Tie Fest, Vero Beach FL, March 21st
This event has a long history and was brought back to life last year. I love what they are doing with Tie Fest. There will be lots of great folks gathering in one spot and I would love to see you there.
Drifter Fish Club Saltwater School, Xcalak MX, March 29-April 5
We are excited to head back to Xcalak on the Fly. This time with some intentional workshops to help folks (me included) grow in their angling. This trip is for Drifter Members only.
Drifter Jack Tournament, Vero Beach FL, April 17-19
We are doing something new this year and partnering with some great folks in Vero Beach to host a small, private Jack Tournament. This trips is for Drifter Members only.
Golden Isles Fly Fishing Festival, Brunswick GA, April 24-26
We will be closing out the Spring with the Golden Isles Fly Fishing Festival. I love this event and the wonderful team at On the Fly Outfitters who make it possible. Come check out this quaint coastal time and meet up with some of my favorite people.
If you’re headed to any of these stops, hit reply and tell me where you’ll be.

WHAT I AM WORKING ON (LATELY)
Just a couple updates on what I am focused on this Spring…
Substack Photo Essays, Short Stories, and Other Caffeine Induced Musings
I have a degree in Creative Writing, and have been recently knocking off the dust and working on my story telling. Please help me out by subscribing and sharing to my Substack Newsletter. A little bit of love goes a long way. I am also writing some for Fly Lab who publishes some great articles. You can subscribe HERE.
Legacy Podcast Project Stepping Up My Podcasting Game
I can’t share too much about this right now, but I am in the middle of producing a large podcast series that is steeped in first hand stories from legends. I have partnered up with my good friend Jesse Males to also feature cinematic video for each episode. It is the biggest thing I have ever bitten off, and we are hungry to produce something that is lasting and meaningful. Keep your eyes peeled for more.
Drifter Radio Variety Music Playlist
This is a fun little project that combines my love for music and all the eccentric people I have befriended over the years. I will release one playlist a month featuring curated music interspersed with fun segments with guests. It’s like an old radio show, podcast, and music playlist had a few too many Ranch Waters and made some bad choices. Stay Tuned.
