On our final night at Cayo Frances Farm & Fly, we pulled up chairs, turned on the microphones, and talked about a week of chasing bonefish in Belize with the Drifter Fish Club.

There’s something satisfying about catching a fish you had to figure out for yourself—and coming back to camp to compare notes with friends doing the same.

In this round table, I sit down with Nick Barnes and Cameron Ellsworth to talk about our Drifter Fish Club trip: exploring by paddleboard, learning unfamiliar water, and helping each other put the pieces together.

Nick and Cameron also share how their families became owners of a remote fishing camp, the challenges of running it, and the people who make it special. Along the way, we get into first bonefish, lost paddles, camp meals, and why a good fishing trip stays with you long after you get home.

Two people cheers with Belikin beer bottles on a boat surrounded by luggage.

In this episode:

• DIY bonefishing and the paddleboard learning curve
• Combining guided fishing with exploring on your own
• Sharing knowledge and helping your friends succeed
• The history and daily life of Cayo Frances
• Taking the leap into owning a fishing camp with family
